Fitness


Under fitness we understand the general state of one's physical state. If you body receives regular physical activity, proper nutrition, correct diet and necessary rest for organism recovery you can consider it a result of fitness. Fitness is also a set of such features of our body as flexibility, speed, endurance, balance, body composition and agility.

Regular fitness exercise provides the basis for wellness and good health of every human being. In the past physical health meant the absence of illness, but nowadays we talk about health in terms of mental, physical, emotional and social wellness. Unfortunately having physical fitness does not guarantee you health. However, exercise itself is an important component of a good health state. Exercise maybe considered as a basis for living a full, vivid, interesting life. It will help you combine together your body, mind and spirit. The effort it takes for you to be physically fit will help you to discover the individual within yourself.

A lot of men and women of today are in situation when their daily work gives them enough exercise for fitness. The god example for this is running up and down the stairs and walking from the bus stations to the office. Unfortunately such kind of activity is quite limited and do not provide adequate stimulation for the heart or use the lungs fully to produce a real training effect. And tat is why when you come from work fatigued at the end of the day, you need again that increased energy that comes from regular physical exercise. We have here simple formula - energy to gain energy. This means that regular stimulation of the body with the means of different exercise gives you additional endurance and strength, which obviously are characteristics associated with good health. Of course you will not gain a thing from sitting at the chair all day long, and watching sports on TV, riding elevators, or snacking.

Now you see that the lack of activity, fitness or other exercise is recognized as a serious threat to human well being. That is why we may suggest that fitness may be the cheapest preventative medicine and even remedy in the world. So researchers all over the world in spheres of nutrition, medicine, physiology, psychology, and physical education agree that properly performed exercise is necessary and important for maintaining functional physical fitness. Of course fitness must not be considered a panacea, but it is clear that we need regular exercise for the maintenance of our physical capacities just as we need rest, food and drink. Fitness is not an end in itself but a means to get to the end. Fitness provides the basis for optimal health and gives the capacity to enjoy a full life.

Some people like to train by themselves. Others like to workout with someone. In some cases you'd better consider someone to help you work out. A training buddy can be very motivational. You can push each other to attain each other's goals. If you know that your friend is going to be at the gym you are more likely to show up to train.
